PowerFlex 4M AC drive from Rockwell automation

The new Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4M AC drives from Rockwell Automation provide users with economical, easy-to-program variable frequency motor control with feed-through wiring for quick installation in new and retrofit applications.

The PowerFlex 4M AC drive, designed for ease of use, assists users in reducing mechanical machine stress and increasing application flexibility. “OEMs and panel builders understand the performance-enhancing, motor-protecting benefits of AC drive control, but using this flexible motor control option is frequently limited by wiring issues and complex programming,” said Jimmy Koh, Rockwell Automation’s Drives Business marketing manager.

PowerFlex 4M AC drives provide traditional electromechanical motor control and experienced AC drive users with powerful volts-per-hertz motor control in a space-saving, user-friendly package.

Installing a DIN-rail-compatible PowerFlex 4M takes significantly less time than traditional screw-in mounting. Setup is simple. Integral RS485 communications allow engineers to use the drives in a multidrop network configuration for ease of information sharing and setup, and a serial converter module connects to any controller that can initiate DF1 messaging.

Allen-Bradley’s PowerFlex® 4M AC Drives are the smallest and least expensive members of the PowerFlex drive family. Feed-through wiring and simple programming allow for the handling of a wide range of applications.
